About Me
Hello, I am Vanessa Gallego, a graduate of New York City College of Technology with a bachelor's degree in architecture. From an early age, I have been a visual learner with a profound appreciation for art. At around 13, I discovered my passion for sketching, which quickly became a cherished hobby. After middle school, I had the opportunity to attend a trade high school focused on architecture. This experience provided me with valuable insights into the field and a preview of what studying architecture in college would entail. Throughout my four years in high school, I became increasingly convinced that architecture was my true calling. During my undergraduate studies, I realized that architecture encompasses more than just buildings; it involves people, communities, and culture. I delved deeper into topics such as climate mitigation, resilience measures, and spatial planning. Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a master's degree in architecture and urban design. I believe that understanding how to connect a building to its urban landscape is key to creating cohesive projects.
